Re: [riena-dev] Riena Update
|
Hi Scott,
so I hear what you say :-) and we have to see where we get. My
intention is to continue to treat the Release Review on 1.0 and a
discussion about the Goals for Remote Services as unrelated issues
since that is my view on this.
So why dont you write down what your goals and motivations where when
you create ECF Remote Services and when we compare the two wiki pages
we have a base for discussion.

Sure. I would like to see some input from you and/or Riena team
on the
questions that I raise (e.g. distinction between API and
implementation
design goals, and relationship with ECF)...especially prior to 1.0
release review...as I believe they are germane both to the
usability of
the work by the community of folks wanting to do remoting for
OSGi, as
well as germane to the project's role within the set of Eclipse
Foundation projects...but I will bring them up myself if you are not
able/willing/sufficient time.
I am planning the release review for 1.0 for Riena for end of
January.
I think the Release is unrelated to this general discussion. But its
up to you to create that connection and bring it up. I can sure
supply
feedback as time permits.
I'm hereby making clear that I intend to bring these questions up WRT
the Riena 1.0 release review...so I would rather attempt to get things
answered/clarified prior to the actual conference call, so nothing is
'by surprise'...basically it's why I would like to work with you
directly on it...so that it's not perceived in a hostile way WRT the
Release/review (it's not at all intended that way, so I would rather
work directly/together with you rather than just bring it up out of
the
blue and risk having intentions be unclear).
Scott
