Text editor screen shot

(After editing a *.target file with the Target Editor)

Opening a *.target file with Generic or Text editors shows signs of the "Set as Active Target Platform" bowdlerisation.

In the Generic Text editor "Set as Active Target Platform" is clearly visible overlying the start of line 1.

In the Text editor some kind of pixel mixing occurs (see attachment)

In either case attempting to edit on line 1 has effects on line 2.

A couple of attempts at taking a screenshot can cause a redisplay in which the Text editor consistently displays the text moved down a line.

Bug 1: The Text/Generic Text editor display should never be inconsistent with a redisplay.

Bug 2: The Text/Generic Text editor are boring editors and so should never show corrupting textual inserts.

Workaround: Use the Compare Editor

You know the drill, Ed. What installation do you have? Did you try this with the SDK and get the same results? Any plugins that you use that might cause this? Anything in the log? Please attach log and configuration.

PS
Are terms as "bowdlerisation" and "boring" really needed? It is not motivating.

This is how it looks in the SDK and should look everywhere. I can't really think of anything that could cause this since the text/generic editors are separate instances from the target editor with separate parent composites.

Are you on VNC or a remote desktop connection?

This is a duplicate of Bug 571121.

The "Set as Active Target Platform" is a code mining (which cannot be disabled Bug 546183).
