Description Arun Thondapu CLA 2014-08-12 05:29:03 EDT
The SWT GTK+ 3 port has a few outstanding issues on the latest Linux distributions which come with GTK+ 3 versions >= 3.10.x. This is the main bug which keeps track of all those bugs that need to be fixed for improving the GTK+ 3 support.

Should bugs affecting all GTK3 versions be added as dependencies to this bug or just the bugs that affect only 3.10 and up?

All includes 3.10 and up so I would say add them.

This bug was used to keep track of the plan item during the Mars release for improving the GTK+ 3 port and specifically for fixing the multiple issues that were encountered on GTK+ versions >= 3.10. Many of those bugs were fixed in Mars and GTK3 has been made the default for Eclipse on Linux for all versions of GTK+ 3.x in Mars. Accordingly, I'm going to resolve this bug as fixed in 4.5.

There is of course, more work to be done for improving the GTK3 port and for addressing problems seen on more recent versions like GTK+ 3.14 and 3.16. I'll open a new bug for tracking those issues for 4.6 and move the pending bugs over there.
