Re: [wtp-incubator-dev] Vex 0.5 Release?
|
I would support this, Florian's not only active here, but through out
eclipse as well.
Holger if you are interested in nominating Florian, the process is to
submit his nomination through the Developer's portal system.
The following query can be used to get a list of contributions to the
eclipse community that Florian has been involved with.

I definitely want to provide more of this and I think it is time to
introduce myself and my intentions about Vex a little.
I worked serveral years in the domains of computational linguistics
and technical documentation. I have built some applications based on
the Eclipse RCP in these areas. There was always the need to integrate
a WYSIWYM XML editor since the typical users were of a non-technical
kind ;-) Vex can finally be the solution I was looking for.
It would give me a great pleasure to become a commiter.

Hi Florian,
great to hear that you are going to work on bug 299999. :-)
I added a comment with some assumption/speculations on what the problem
is and how to fix it. I think a good starting point will be to write a
test similar to DTDValidatorTest.

Holger,
how can I help you with #299999? Where is a good point to start at for
me?

Hi Dave,
sounds good to me. In my point of view there is only WTPVEXValidator
with some to-dos/methods to implement (see also bug 299999) before
release 0.5 and before I will integrate the new Eclipse Vex in
Pacx. And
what about the User Manual?
I'm hoping to have more time for Vex in the next month. There are
still
patches to apply... :-|
Holger
Holger,
I had the opportunity to put Vex through some paces this week. First
let
me say that it has come a long way in a very short period of time.
The
stability is good, and I used it to help create a DocBook version of
the
Eclipse Public License for use by the foundation. So I was wondering
what your thoughts were on making a public version of Vex 0.5
available
in the next couple of months.
Also, I think we should shoot for a Vex 1.0 version for release
sometime
next year.
Thoughts?
Dave
