Re: [technology-pmc] Lyo release/graduation - would a review of a draft set of slides be useful?

Mike,

The slides look pretty good. I prefer to see an incubating project do a few
releases prior to graduation to get comfortable with the process, but this
is not a hard requirement in EDP.

A few items to work on...

1. On the Consistent Releases slide there is a reference to "milestone
releases". A "release" is a very specific term in EDP, so you should steer
away from using it in connection with milestones.

2. One important aspect of graduation is API maturity. I suspect that you
can make a case for it based on early adopter usage of milestones, but this
should be explicitly addressed in the document.

3. The project plan needs attention. There is no plan referenced in project
metadata for the 1.0 release and the overall plan doesn't render.

Feel free to ask questions if you are not sure how to fix this up or which
fields in the portal need to be filled out.

4. The mailing list looks pretty active, but the forum is not being
monitored. The three questions posted to the forum have not been answered. A
typical split is mailing list for day-to-day development activity and forum
for adopter/user questions, but that is also not a hard requirement. What
does need to happen is either (a) the forum is monitored and referenced from
project website and portal, or (b) the forum is deleted.

Thanks,

- Konstantin

The draft of the release documentation is posted [1]. We used other past
project documents as a guide and reviewed with our project
mentors. Thanks for any comments/issues.
