Re: [recommenders-dev] [snipmatch] should we announce a prototype drop?

I think a broad template base is essential. Otherwise people see a very nice tool but can't use it out of the box. I think the prototype should deliver something useful from the first moment.

I my opinion I did it wrong with intelligent call completion as I added support for Java Standard Library much too late (and only incompletely). So, this is just my personal view point and how I'd change things in the past if possible ;)

Please check Section "Intelligent Code Templates" in this post:
http://code-recommenders.blogspot.de/2012/07/code-recommenders-10-code-completion-on.html

These snippets are derived from the models of the intelligent call completion. I could write a few of them out to Snipmatch's database.

Cheers,
Marcel

As Doug and me have some more features to develop for SnipMatch in our mind, and Marcel has also dream features for SnipMatch, maybe users have also some expecting things. I think we should hear users' voice, what they like, what they expect, this will help us to improve SnipMatch.

A little manual setup wont hurt much as we could announce it as alpha. But I think snipmatch should provide a waste of templates for almost all standard things (read, all templates already built-in Eclipse should be part of snipmatch too + as many new ones as possible) to make it valuable. In fact it should allow you to replace Eclipse's current templates completions.
