Re: [modeling-pmc] Transition Plan for MDT OCL andEMF"QTV" Components?

Sorry,

I was just following this mailing list, via rss, which usually takes a little bit to update, and doesn't allow me to reply. Taking into account that ocl.dev mailing list was not included in the discussion and I'm interested in taking part in, I have had to subscribe this one.

1. Yes freddy, I think that you have forgotten several names: Ed, Alex and I expressed our wishes of being committers to offer support (maintenance and evolution) to MDT-OCL project in the dev.ocl mailing list, including a list of reasons (experience, knowledge, motivations, etc) why we are offering for being part of the project. I don't know if Ed or Alex have received any mail about this theme, but I haven't been asked by anybody, and seeing a list of "names" with the new MDT-OCL team is a little bit....mmm..... as Ed said...puzzling.
2. I thought that Christian would stablish the new mdt-ocl project's team. I guess that he knows the possible candidates, how they work, which are they interests and motivations, and undoubtedly he's very capable to make an objetive project's team based mainly on meritocracy.
3. I agree with Ed, I believe that having a lot of comitters in the project, simply doesn't make sense. IMHO, I think that an experienced lead who profoundly knows the project, and a few more to cover the different corners of the project (expressions parser/analyzer, AST evaluator, examples, answer community questions, etc) would suffice.
4. I'm not sure if this new MDT-OCL team has any plan for the project, however I should notice that a new OCL specification is being prepared (I hope that it finally turns up on the summer). I know that Christian wanted to kick up a new release for the component (MDT-OCL 2.0). The actual implementation has some deviations to the specification, which can't be fixed due to API breakage, and it should obviously adopt all the new issues resolution fixed by the new OMG's specification release.

Well, I think that those 4 points are sufficient so far ;P

Regards,
Adolfo.
