Just to give some follow-up, I tested Matthew latest patch today and it
seemed to fix the big-endian timestamp reading. I pushed it to master
and closed bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=389002 .

If you still experience problems with big-endian traces, let us know!
