Re: [dsdp-mtj-dev] MIDlet Localization support requirements

Hugo,

I guess I was just interested. I'm not sure it matters that much in the end and I can see either options working ok.

Hi Craig,

The reason to use an XML file is to make it easier to keep the same set
of keys for each locale, and any other localization metadata that we
want, such as where to generate bundles, if the user wants MTJ to create
constants for each key, what are the locales being used, etc.
Besides that, it will be easier to create a tabbed editor that edits
only one file rather than on single editor for several files.

However we can still discuss this topic, and I'm open to go with a set
of properties if we find it is better.

Is there a particular reason for using an intermediate XML file and then

writing to properties files? Would it be easier to just use a bundle of property files throughout?

Hi All,

According to bug 249815 (http://bugs.eclipse.org/249815), I've listed a set or requirements for the MIDlet Localization Support.

The requirements can be found on the wiki pages
(http://wiki.eclipse.org/DSDP/MTJ/Requirements/MIDlet_Localization_Suppo
rt).
I've also opened a set of bugs associated with each task. More details

can be found on the requirements bug.

Please review the requirements and send your comments to the list or post them in the appropriate bugs. I'll keep the requirements bug open

until next Monday (Oct, 10)

Thanks,

Hugo
