In RC2. The attached screenshot shows what happens when the Link Additional Source dialog is not wide enough to accomodate the warning "Location C:\blah may overlap another resource. This can cause unexpected side effects." There is a warning icon when the dialog is wide enough, but when the location gets too long, the icon is the first thing to disappear! In descending order of priority, I would expect: 1) The warning icon is always visible, to direct the user's attention. 2) (Perhaps) the actual location is dropped from the message, since it's visible above, making the layout more predictable 3) (or) the warning message wraps.

Marting, this is Erol's the build path dialog. Very likely using the status line dialog from Platform/UI.
dialog with status line in in platform.ui
same as bug 97237
changing prio and status to conform to plat-ui bug guidelines
I think this bug is different than bug #97237, although they both express dissatisfaction with the truncation mechanism. Retitling dialog to make it clearer.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
