Using the latest org.eclipse.ui.console from HEAD, when output is appended to the console, even while the user holds the scrollbar at the top of the slider, the end of document is revealed. As output is appended to the console, we call setTopIndex(..) on the styled text with the last line number if the doc. However, I would expect this to have no effect while the user is scrolling/holding the scrollbar in a certain position.
Re-assigning to SWT for comment. It feels like an issue with the styled text widget.
Low priority. The native control most likely behaves the same way?
Steve, to fix this StyledText would need to know if the scrollbar's thumb is being held down. Is possible to add API to scrollbar to query the state of the thumb ?
