Description Brad Blancett CLA 2004-08-12 10:14:25 EDT
It looks like for 3.0/ v6 the pde editor is defaulting on .mf file extensions.
The J2ee manifest editor has traditionaly been the default for this. Is there
away were we could become default if in the J2EE perspective. Currently, you
guys will always win since you are loaded first.

thanks

in response to opensource bugzilla: 1974

PDE is the default for "manifest.mf", not any *.mf.

In any event, this is a question for Platform/UI, not PDE.
Comment 2 Ritchie Schacher CLA 2004-08-15 19:50:41 EDT
The J2EE tools first registered an editor for this file name, "MANIFEST.MF",
more than two years ago. Now PDE has "hijacked" that extension, which makes
it more confusing for J2EE developers who double click one of these files in a
J2EE module.

that's a good idea. Doug, maybe we can consider some solution for this related
to the new core support for file types and editor mappings, see also bug 22953

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
