Since I sometimes want to use the built-in Java editor, and sometimes an external editor (which shall remain nameless), I would like a menu item in one of the editor menus to open the file in whatever external editor(s) I've defined (with Windows > Preferences > Workbench > File Associations). This would be different from the one in the Navigator telling which editor I want to open a given file with; this is for situations where I'm working in the internal editor and realize that an external editor could do what I want more quickly.
Moving Dougs bugs
This could either go into the editor tab menu (next to "New Editor") or into all editors' context menus (next to "Show In").

Even after bug 315722 adds 'Open With >' to the context menu of textual editors, it would still make sense to have it in the editor tab menu as well. We shouldn't force it into the context menu of every editor, since it is not equally interesting in all editors (and I'm not sure if we could do that at all). Still, a shorter way than 'Show In > Navigator; Open With > ...' would be nice to have in general.
The proposed solution from my duplicate "https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281830" is already implemented. So for me it's fine :)
