After merging a file to the HEAD of CVS, that action was added to my list of
choices in the Synchronize drop down in the Synchronize view. It is at the top
of the list, so everytime I start up Eclipse, that is the default selection. 

I would like the ability to remove things from that list, or change the default
choice somehow.

You can remove synchronizations (e.g. compares/merges) from the synchronize view
via the view's drop down menu. The action is called "Remove Current
synchronization".

We don't remember the last selected on shutdown. We should.

Ah, blessed workaround. :-) (kind of wierd to go to one menu to remove an item from another)

Just got nailed by this again. This bug makes working with branches a real 
pisser in Eclipse.
