I20030211 Open the help browser. Right-click on the item in the windows task bar. Notice the context menu appears and then quickly disappears. This is inconsistent with other windows apps, including the workbench. I suspect there is some focus oddness going on.
The problem seems to be caused by the embedding of the IE's web browser activeX component in SWT. I've seen a similar behavior when using the SWT example OLE Web Browser view. Launch the OLE Web Browser view and navigate to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/allclasses-noframe.html (you need a page with a reasonable large number of links, or any focusable elements). Now try the context menu for the workbench, on the task bar. You'll notice the focus problems. I will move this to SWT.
This also happens with Windows 2000.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
