In Eclipse 3.6 filtering is being added to the help infocenter but due to schedule constraints not to the help view. This enhancement request is to track the remaining work to add filtering to the help view.

I am not going to be able to complete all of the work for 3.6 so I have created a clone of this bug to represent the remaining work and changed the title of this bug to reflect the work that is being delivered in Eclipse 3.6. What I have done is to update the ScopePreferenceDialog in the help view to allow criteria to be specified and those criteria will be applied to a search in the help view.
