Build ID: I20070516-1800 I have a very large project in Eclipse. Quite often Eclipse rebuilds the workspace which can take some 5 minutes. So usually I switch to a Firefox window to read some news. It would be nice if Eclipse could give some feedback if building the workspace or some other long-running operation is done. This could be a sound or a popup coming to the foreground (e.g. like Lotus notes brings a popup for new mails).
Does this actually have anything to do with action sets? Or are we talking about some kind of a notification after an action has been run?
Oh damn, I reassigned it to Platform UI by mistake, sorry folks. :(
I would imagine it is actually a job that finishes (and it could be an enhancement to progress notification). PW
I've been playing around with this for years but haven't gotten it into a shape that makes sense to include in the platform directly. You can find some code that uses sound in the platform-ui incubator (http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/platform-ui/updates/).
