Description Scott Rutledge CLA 2002-04-30 23:23:15 EDT
I find it quite common to switch between Working Sets fairly often (I work on three projects at any
given time at work). It would be nice to have a drop-down toolbar button that shows a list of the
defined Working Sets, allowing me to select one or clear the working set without having to go into a
model dialog.

We are moving back to per-view working set filter settings.
In the Navigator, the dialog for this has a drop-down combo, but it's still in
a modal dialog.
Having a drop-down on the toolbar for each view which supports working sets
would be too much clutter.

The JDT team has also requested the ability to switch working sets quickly
though. It is unlikely that this will be addressed for 2.0 however.
Defering for consideration in v3.

How about adding a submenu to the Select Working Set menu item which lists all the available
working sets, and an item at the bottom for opening the editing dialog (this is for the Packages
view)? Like such:

Select Working Set>
                   Set 1
                   Set 2
                   Set 3
                   ------
                   Edit...

This avoids
clutter on the toolbar, but it still faster for switching working sets.

I believe JDT is moving/has moved to incorporate the working set selection in
the filters dialog. This is what the workbench navigator does now so we won't
have separate menu items for working sets anymore.

Reopen for investigation
