Description James Moody CLA 2002-04-19 18:32:51 EDT
Linux-Motif M5

Often, the colour of the titlebar of the view that has focus is a *grey*
gradient. Likewise, an active editor also has a *grey* gradient.

This differs from other times, where the active view has a *blue* titlebar, and
the active editor tab is also blue.

I have no idea how I get into either of these states.
I've seen this on many builds in the past.
Comment 1 James Moody CLA 2002-04-19 18:34:15 EDT
I just managed to make the states transition.

I was in the grey state, and I did a 'sync', which popped up a progress dialog.
When the progress dialog went away, I was in the blue state. I have no idea why.

Blue - means active view or editor.
White - Used only on editor. means it is the top editor but it is not the
active part in the Window.
Grey - Replaces the Blue when the window is the active one.

Please reopen this report if you see something different.

I don't understand your description of "Grey", can you clarify?

I believe there is a valid bug on linux. In some states, the ACTIVE view in the
ACTIVE window (i.e. the one with focus) is dark grey instead of blue. I don't
know how to get it in this state, but it happens fairly frequently.

As I suspect this is related to window manager focus issues, I'm using Sawfish
window manager, and I have "focus follows mouse" turned on.

Grey means the view or editor is the active one but the window is not active.
I.e. Blue when the window is active and grey when the window is not.

Please add steps to reproduce it when/if you have them and add screen shots as
well if possible.

Seems like a dup of bug 16630. It has steps to reproduce.
Comment 6 James Moody CLA 2002-08-13 15:24:52 EDT
Sounds like the same problem. However, the steps don't work for me. (Probably
because of my different focus-follows-mouse settings). Symptoms are exactly the
same though.

Which window manager?
Comment 8 James Moody CLA 2004-03-02 10:09:43 EST
I don't know. I logged this defect 2 years ago.
Comment 9 Douglas Pollock CLA 2004-03-02 10:51:17 EST
Can you reproduce this bug at all?
Comment 10 Tod Creasey CLA 2006-06-22 08:26:03 EDT
Marking remind pending replicable case

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
