This applies to Danish as well. Sync paused status message at the bottom of the screen is truncated. Susanne
I'm not certain, but I think it is intentional to truncate the progress reporting in the status line. It's hard to tell from the screenshot whether this is the progress reporting. Can you attach a screenshot that shows the whole width of the window?
It may be intentional but it does not look good... I have attached a full screen windows, hope it helps.

I suspect this is a visual editor you are using.
The same happens in Portuguese - field should be enlarged to accomodate the string "Sincronização parada". Thank you! The same truncated strings appear in Greek as well: In Sync Sync Paused Writable Smart Insert thank you Peppy
Note that this is a general Status Line issue; same for "Sync Paused" as it is for "Smart Insert" status line field. The default StatusLineContributionItem's width (used also in the JDT/Text editors) is 14 char. long. The messeges in the VE's status field comes from many contributions and could not be determined at construction time by the VE. We can "arbitrarily" increase the size; but it is just a bandage and impact the Platform's UI. Looking for Platform UI to give more direction on how to resolve this.
I'm not sure what you would do differently? The line is too long - either we cut off words or use an ellipsis and the ellipsis is the methid we use throughout the user interface. The way to resolve this is a larger status line or smaller messages.
There are no plans to work on this issue currently
I tripped upon this one again and noticed that when the text in the status area is truncated that a flyover of the full text will appear when I hover the mouse over the message. I believe that is sufficient for the problem at hand. The only thing that I think could be considered, if it is possible, would be to make the dividers along the status bar moveable so as to enable users to give the various areas more or less room. But that would be an enhancement request and not a bug. I think that this bug should either be resolved as WONTFIX (rather than REMIND) or should be changed into an enhancement request (change the severity) for the moveable dividers. The only other consideration I can think of is to make sure screen readers will read the full text when it is truncated. I tried it with the basic reader that comes with Windows XP and it read it fine.
Reopening
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
