Need to make status area for insert/overwrite wider to accommodate translations that are longer than the text in English (this particular example is Swedish). This status widget is contributed by the Text component, from what I understand, so moving to Platform-Text.
The full name is shown when hovering over it. We'd need to compute the minimal size out ouf the translated string. 3.1.2 if code change is trivial.
The same happens in PT: the field should be enlarged enough to contain the following string "Inserção inteligente" (Smart Insert). Thank you!
It's the same problem for the status area 'Sync Paused', the translation 'Synkronisering pausad' is truncated. See the attached gif. Please enlarge that area.

The 'Sync Paused' status line item is not contributed by Platform Text.
Seems like the Sync Paused message comes from the CVS component. CDE Admin - please log a new bug against Platform-CVS for the request in comment #6, and attach the screen shot to the new bug.
Hi, the Dutch Eclipse panel has similar problems, especially for the synchronisation text on the bottom of the screen. Although when you hover on it you see the full text, any enlargement of the box would be more than welcome. Thanks, Gerard

Opened TCT 217 for the Sync Paused truncation
This refers to the truncated Smart Insert string (as is the title of the tct article). The Smart insert string in the status bar at the bottom of the screen is truncated for Danish too. Testcase 21.001020 Susanne

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and remove the stalebug whiteboard tag. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. --
