If sufficient resources (that means people) were available to take on the
maintenance and improvement of these plugins, then it would be a good idea.
But if the move were merely a code drop with nobody committed to maintaining
it, then it would a bad idea.

Matt on the list offered to contribute to its upkeep. Are there enough other
committed contributors?
