Re: [tycho-user] Produce artifacts consumable by Maven and Tycho

You are right that's how it is supposed to work and I think your bug report is valid if it currently does not.

So the following should work:
- repo defined in pom.xml of the module where the target is located
- repo is defined in the parent of that module (or parent parent and so on)
- repo defined in settings.xml
- repo defined in global-settings.xml

What should not work:
- repo defined in any other module that just references the target module.

Unfortunately defining repositories in the parent POM of the target module or in the target module POM itself did not work; this was described in my original bug report.

Though I don't fully understand the internals of Tycho or Maven, I don't believe your second sentence can be correct either. If the target is resolved in the context of the target module then surely it should inherit configuration from the parent POM, such as repository locations?

Neil

You could also define them in e.g. in the parent of the target or the
target pom itself (haven't tried that but should work).

The target is a dedicated artifact not some piece of
extra-pom-configuration and is resolved in the context of the target
    module.
