3. Bugs of the week

* Bug 395326 latlong provider adapter threading issue when creating video with two maps running side by side

TO DO: Fix for V 1.4.1 RC2 (Matt)
* Bug 395372 if delete project from workspace and re-import it, you need to restart STEM

TO DO: Fix for V 1.4.1 RC2 unless it is an Eclipse problem (Jamie)
* Bug 395331 need to clean up transient variables

TO DO: Create bug (Chris); fix for V 2.0

4. Suggestion From Kamesh; links below for any/all to explore
AAAI and IJCAI conferences for 2013 have "AI and Computational Sustainability" as main theme.
AAAI has a special track:   http://www.aaai.org/Conferences/AAAI/2013/aaai13csaicall.php
IJCAI's conference theme itself in on Computational Sustainability:   http://ijcai13.org/calls/call_for_papers
Modeling infectious diseases is part of Computational Sustainability. AAAI & IJCAI are good venues for showcasing STEM based work

Jamie: Will discuss with Kamesh & Alfiya on call tomorrow to determine whether they might want to present on dengue work

5. Mark Dittmer (Western University of Canada) has upcoming publication submitted to the "Online Journal of Public Health Informatics" that includes STEM.
* Propose inviting him to a future call (Jamie)

6. Future calls
Stefan will moderate call on Dec 6th
Dec 13 will be our last call of 2012 (picking up again Jan 10th 2013)
Please use STEM-dev in any issues arise over the holidays

7. ITEMS FROM PARTICIPANTS

Matthias: Report on interest in STEM at recent BfR presentations on bioterrorist threats, one in the area of forensic science, one on vector behaviors. Jamie: Want to be in touch with any users, even if not heavily involved scientifically; vector behaviors seems up our alley, forensic science less so because needs realtime weather data. Would like to talk with researcher studying vector behaviors

TO DO: Matthias will send him an email introducing him to Jamie

Matthias: Have funding for Chris to spend 3 months modeling feed production, will use gravity model work done by Almaden team

Jamie: Sent Matthias abstract for conference that seems to be of interest to Matthias

Matthias: Posted question on newsgroup, asking whether HTML doc is implemented

Jamie: Implemented for old logger but not moved over to new logger

TO DO: Create bug, implement for V 2.0, not for this release

Jamie: Received email on using STEM to model non-infectious diseases (mental); should we start a thread? Is this like food quality issues? Matthias: Many applications that are not epidemic, e.g., dioxin levels in food; would like users to be able to use one tool for easy tasks. Jamie: Using STEM has advantage when lots of demographic data already there

Werner: Raised possibility of nominating STEM for Eclipse award in modeling category

TO DO: Werner will send Jamie link when nomination process is announced; Jamie will put out & and see if someone outside the core group wants to nominate STEM

Kendall: Looking forward to STEM mention in presentation at her group’s upcoming workshop. Jamie: Presenter is expert in genetic data
