AAAI and IJCAI conferences for 2013 have "AI and Computational Sustainability" as main theme.

IJCAI's conference theme itself in on Computational Sustainability: http://ijcai13.org/calls/call_for_papers
Modeling of infectious diseases is a part of Computational Sustainability. AAAI and IJCAI are good venues for show casing STEM based work.
5. Mark Dittmer (Western University of Canada) has upcoming publication submitted to the "Online Journal of Public Health Informatics" that includes STEM.
