[ptp-dev] Launch Controller error

Some recent changes to PTP's launch system seem to have broken running 
the Open MPI-Generic-Interactive on my localhost (Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64). 
I get a fairly generic "Unable to locate launch controller" message. 
When I launch a job, it gets as far as asking if I want to switch to the 
System Monitoring Perspective, I select yes, then it fails with a 
controller error. Any ideas what is wrong?
