You are cordially invited to attend the Eclipse Parallel Tools Platform BOF at SC05 this year. The BOF is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15 from 5:15 to 6:45 in Room 615-616. Please attend if you are interested in using Eclipse for parallel application development. We will be demonstrating all aspects of the Parallel Tools Platform and will be happy to answer questions about Eclipse or any aspect of the project.

Please forward this email to anyone who would be interested in attending.

From the SC05 website:

http://sc05.supercomputing.org/schedule/event_detail.php?evid=5268

Eclipse is an extensible, open source integrated development environment (IDE), that provides a robust, full-featured, commercial- quality platform for the development of highly integrated tools. Eclipse provides many features you’d expect from a commercial quality IDE: multiple language support; a syntax-highlighting editor; a thread-aware source-level debugger; a code and class navigator; a file/project manager; source control system integration (CVS, etc.)

The parallel tools platform (PTP) project has extended the Eclipse framework so that it can be used for parallel application development. This includes: the ability to monitor parallel machine, job and process status; parallel job launch; a parallel debugger; Fortran language support; and the ability to combine multiple languages in a single project.

This BOF will provide the opportunity for interested users to learn more about Eclipse and how it can be used for parallel application development, and provide feedback to developers in order to improve the PTP.
