Re: [platform-ui-dev] Opera/Mozilla style mouse/pen gesture recognition inEclipse

When I was looking over James' shoulder the other day, he was showing me
the gestures stuff.
Being left-handed, he found most accelerators to be annoying since they
typically assume the left hand is on the keyboard, whereas his is usually
kept on the mouse.
There are sometimes alternates (e.g. Ctrl+Ins / Shift+Ins for Copy/Paste),
but there aren't for operations like Save.
I would expect gestures to be a help here.

I went back home and turned the feature on in Opera and I like it a lot.
I haven't used it extensively yet in Eclipse, but my first impressions
are:

1) great for navigation w/o requiring to use the keyboard or move big
distances with the mouse to hit the tool bar button.
2) no benefit for editing (copy, cut) or saving operations (you are
already using the keyboard anyway)

I think that Eclipse can and should act like a browser when one is
browsing
through a lot of source code.
