[platform-ui-dev] Eclipse as a platform for custom applications

HI,
I'm currently in the process of comparing Netbeans and Eclipse platform to
build our next Application Platform
The main idea is to use either Netbeans or Eclipse to build a modular
in house builded softwar wich must be
a platform for all in-house business modules.
Therefore It would be great to remove everything concerning the IDE
specific functionalities (Toolbar, Menu Bar, Function )
and to customize it with in-house modeule
I know that Netbeans provides the capabilities to build on top of its
OPEN API a custom modular ssoftware
      What about Eclipse ??
And if yes, where can I find some samples about How to do it.

regards
