Newer to the public that is.  It has been used internally in building
IDEs at OTI for 4 years (e.g. VisualAge Micro Edition).  Before that,
its heritage was in the Common Widgets layer of IBM Smalltalk (used in
VisualAge Java and VisualAge Smalltalk).  So much of its code and
concepts have been "tested" for a long time.
