I may have found a smoking gun. After wiping everything again (Helios
installation, ~/.eclipse, ~/.eclipse-3.5.0 (?!) and ~/workspace) I
reinstalled and tried installing just Photran. Still no sign of a
Fortran perspective, etc. Photran is being installed, Eclipse has a
record of it but apparently isn't loading it.

In ~ I ran

  find . -type d -mtime -1 -print

and noticed the following:

./.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1399998724/features/org.eclipse.photran_6.0.0.201006142322
./.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1399998724/features/org.eclipse.photran_6.0.0.201006142322/META-INF
./.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1399998724/features/org.eclipse.rephraserengine_2.0.0.201006142322
./.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1399998724/features/org.eclipse.rephraserengine_2.0.0.201006142322/META-INF

IIRC, Helios is Eclipse 3.6.0. So (rhetorically speaking) where the hell
is org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_1399998724 coming from?

I don't believe this is a Photran problem but I'm at a loss to explain
Eclipse's behavior.

I suspect my download of Helios; I'll see about grabbing a minimalist
one (heh) and install CDT over the net. In the meantime, short of paving
this system and reinstalling the OS, does anyone have any idea what
other files need to be deleted to get rid of any traces of older Eclipse
configs? Apparently I'm not scorching the earth hard enough. :/
