FWIW, I've found the problem: while setting up
another virtual machine based on the Orion image, there was a MAC
address conflict.
I've changed the MAC address so orion.eclipse.org should be clear
to talk to the network without having another machine interrupt
it.

Apparently, this is not a DNS lookup issue (or the like), since
"dig orion.eclipse.org" takes 1ms even when the page access is
slow.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there something that could be
misconfigured in the server that could cause it?
