I don’t know how others are testing automatically against latest Orbit, but to me it sounds reasonable to have a single automatically built update site compared to manual effort for each interested party.

What do you mean by process in Orbit? Wouldn’t this just be an automated script?

Same job mentioned below is used to update that composite, so Orbit could do similar if there's a need.

Sounds like you have a workaround in place already, so unless another consumer needs this, I'd argue that there's no need for more process in Orbit.
