> My main concern here is troubleshooting. Noone is going to look at some 'unrelated' warning markers. Instead, we'll just get a flood of bugreports about missing resources, failing tests, etc. These reports wil be far more difficult and time consuming to troubleshoot both for users and m2e developers.
With the amount of explanation I have had to do over the years for Eclipses 'missing serialversionUID in serializable class'-warnings makes it pretty clear to me that most people actually does read the warnings.
This all shows that there are many ways to use the IDE but m2e is not giving the users the option to adopt it to their worfklow (i.e. error/warning option and setup exclusions on workspace/project level instead of always in POM)
