[hyades-dev] UI meeting minutes, March 24, 2004 12PM
|
Hi all,
See below the minutes for the Hyades
UI meeting on March 24, 2004.
There will be another meeting next week
to discuss the Test Navigator - details to follow
Usability updates :
* Under the Test Execution History tab,
the filename field current has a default name. However, if a launch
configuration is reused (e.g., via the Run context menu in a Navigator)
the execution history file will either be overwritten or a new file will
need to be created. It was decided that a checkbox would be added
to this page allowing users to choose to overwrite the file. The
default is to NOT overwrite, rather to create a new file each time.
* Execution History should be renamed
to Execution Results
* There was discussion about having
a single Test tab with the use of sub-tabs (i.e., consistency with Profiling)
but it was determined that multiple test tabs was the appropriate solution
* RPT is to follow "Level 2"
integration with the Test Launch Configuration
* During discussion about "Level
1" and "Level 2" integration, there was discussion about
whether there are plans to allow multiple types of tests to be launched
simultaneously. This is not currently in plan for Atlantic; grouping
test types would be done using a Schedule.
* There was discussion that the selection
of a "Deployment" may be optional (e.g., a default deployment
can be used in some cases without intervention from the user)
Issues :
* For the M9 Test Launch Configuration
feature, PII are not in plugin properties so they are not going to be picked
up by the M8 translation process. This is problematic since M9 has no translation
cycle and we have decided that there are not going to be new M9 PII, except
defect fixes ( less then 1% PII changes on M9 )
I will bring this up with the Hyades
management
* There was some discussion about having
Profiling and Debug support in the future, but this is for post-Atlantic.
There are details that need to be worked out here (e.g., is it the
test that is Profiled vs the application being tested that is profiled
and how to make that clear to the user)
Attached is the design document Lucien
Canches has created and presented during the meeting
