Re: [epp-dev] Future of the JavaScript package

Contributing to EPP is actually more work: each release of Wild Web Developer needs to be pushed to SimRel, then to EPP, and then this needs to be tested on milestones and we need to wait for the release of EPP package for the value to be distributed to target audience. Additionally to this being extra work, it's also relatively stressful work: adds a lot of mails & notifications, requires planning, following deadlines, basically taking attention and energy that could be spent elsewhere.
Having an IDE package in the project makes things simpler and more flexible to me, I expect it's going to give me more time for other important things.
At the moment, I/our team do not believe that the extra effort required by the _javascript_ package in EPP (which may still be profitable to some people and some cases) matches our needs and our priorities; so we just stop doing it. It doesn't mean the whole EPP package must be abandoned, it just means that I/our team doesn't want to spend effort on that any more and people who want this package continued must now do this maintenance work.

I hope this clarifies it.
