Hi Gunter,
If it isn't too much work, can you share some info om the Apache configuration? How users, how and which groups are created? How it should work e.g. EPF Wiki has three roles, do you want to be able to configure this in Apache as well? If I can easily setup a similar Apache configuration I think I can make a patch to support this.

thank you for the details of the basic authentication. It is a good reference to set this up.

Unfortunately after checking with the guys operating the servers they do not use any other webserver with the intended user group, but have set-up the existing wiki to use LDAP authentification with checking of group membership. Are there any means or plans to use LDAP with EPF wiki?
