I have started a wiki page for collecting architectural recommendations for our planned "top ten list": http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/Top_Ten_Recommendations
To start off, I have put four items on the list(s) and written short explanations for two of them. Please go and add items, or comment on or clarify existing items. Can you please send me a short email as well notifying me about the change(s)? This will make it easier for me to track our progress and ensure a consistent format.
The UI best practices group ended up with a "checklist" rather than a top ten list (http://wiki.eclipse.org/UI_Checklist). I would propose that for now, we just add items to our in-progress top ten list without worrying about structure and then decide later which format is best when we publish it.
