Re: [eclipse-mirrors] New Eclipse Mirror in India

Hi Denish,

I'm not sure why you're getting so slow speed and that low transfer rate. Because, on the said server we've 10G of domestic connectivity and 1G of international transit. And on the same host we're hosting a number of other mirrors including ubuntu, centos, opensuse, apache, videolan and libre office. And on the same host we're pushing on average about 2Gig of traffic in peak hours that shoots up to 3 Gig on several instances. There might be some issue between connecting our (your and mine) two sites, which can further be protocol specific (IPv4 or IPv6). We can further trouble shoot it or just leave it and move on. Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hi again.

Your mirror was delisted (but still probed) because of timeouts.

Every 4 hours we pull a random 1M to 3M file from mirrors to assess exactitude, availability and speed. In your case, we are always timing out.

Even from my workstation, this is what I see:

wget -S http://eclipse.mirrors.estointernet.in/mpc/releases/1.4.2/mpc-1.4.2.zip
HTTP request sent, awaiting response...
  HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Saving to: `mpc-1.4.2.zip'

18% [=>                      ] 725,188     7.54K/s  eta 4m 37s  ^C

With that low transfer rate, we won't have much success with your mirror.  Sorry.

Denis

Hi Denis,

It's been 9 days since mirror was setup. Though as per my knowledge, mirror is live, updated daily and is working fine. Can you please confirm, if there is any issue with my installation? Or is there any other reason for the delay.

Thank you.

Hi,

Your mirror will be automatically listed and used by Eclipse once we've determined it to be stable and accurate. It will also be delisted automatically (temporarily) if it's unreliable and does not contain all our files.

We use geolocation to redirect our users to mirrors close to them. It's accurate enough, but we cannot force users in one country to use a specific mirror.

Thanks for your efforts, hardware and bandwidth!

Dear Team,

We've setup a new mirror for eclipse in India. And is accessible at http://eclipse.mirrors.estointernet.in. The for available on: https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/mir_request.php has already been submitted.

Meanwhile, I wait for a response from the webmaster. The mirror has already been synced from alternate hub. Can we go live?

Please note, we're willing to serve in-country i.e. India users only. Is this possible?

Thank you.
Rahul
