Re: [e4-dev] Latest I-build / progress update

Dave, thanks for your comments. It's nice to hear positive feedback after weeks of nothing but hearing about 'stop ship' bugs and relentless work.

I'd also like to second his comments. I think that one of the most powerful statements about the state of  the 4.0 SDK is that we've been using it to handle all of the work we've been doing during this 'crunch' period and it hasn't slowed our development speed at all. This is during a time when *anything* that would have gotten in the way would have been met with "Aaargh, I don't have time for this"..

We're also finally at the point where we're starting to get comments from various members of the team about using 3.6 who a) don't realize it's not 4.0 and b) can't figure out why they can't drop the 'x' view in the editor stack..;-).

Onwards, (there's a light in the distance...a light at the end of the tunnel !!)
Eric

Team,

I have to say I've been working with the I-builds since last Friday and that I *REALLY* like the progress being made.

The UI changes feel tasteful, modern, and sensibly done.  I especially like the new gray background around the part stacks and the subtle drop shadow to the right and below the stacks.

And of course we all appreciate that a lot of the glitchy bugs are going away--like being able to click an editor tab to switch to it.  And too many others to name...

A tiny progress update from my end:
I've solved the DI/configuration issue I emailed about two days ago and am finishing validating our code against the latest E4 drops.  Paul W, you should see the bug report requesting to be added to the build soon.

A big thanks to everyone
who is working so hard to make E4 possible.  We're not quite there yet but things are really starting to look nice.

Best Regards,

Dave Orme
