RE: [dsdp-pmc] Please vote on TM Target Communication Framework (TCF)contribution

DSDP PMC Vote Summary on adding TCF to DSDP-TM:

+1 - Martin Oberhuber
+1 - Mark Rogalski
+1 - Doug Gaff
+1 - Pawel Piech
+1 - Christian Kurzke
+1 - Shigeki Moride
0 - Mika Hoikkala

I'm not sure if we should still consider Mika a PMC
member, but since he has not responded within the
one week voting period I'm counting him as 0. I guess
we can thus consider TCF accepted.

FYI, regarding the TCF / ECF overlap we've had a very
good discussion:

g_4-Dec-2007

The most current updates are on the TCF FAQ:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/DSDP/TM/TCF_FAQ

We'll be moving forward adding the TCF contribution as
a new component to the DSDP-TM project. TCF really focuses
on the single extendable protocol, and not so much on
transport agnosticism. The overlap with ECF is
therefore much smaller than originally expected.

We'll work together with ECF and the Communicty on
eventually adding ECF provider APIs for TCF where it's
useful and beneficial. We have identified Discovery,
Fileshare and (probably) Datashare as potential candidates
for such ECF provider implementations on top of TCF.

Cheers,
