Dashers,
I think we're all enthusiastic about the common build but we're all
sort of waiting for the first shoe to drop so that we can jump in and
work on things. This is probably my fault for not organizing the effort
better. And, worse still, I'm about to take my summer vacation so I'll
be off the grid for few weeks... If you leave it up to me, I'd say
"let's muddle along without leadership until mid October and then we'll
have another build workshop face-to-face with an agenda and some goals
and we'll come away with a technology plan and a project plan and
various resource commitments (at least from the Foundation side).
I suggest the week of October 13th or October 20th in Ottawa. Denis,
could you start a new wiki page for signups?

My
question is: Should we keep pushing forward with the current goal of
taking Nick's code and adapting it to work (which is currently stalled
as most of us are useless without Nick doing all the work), or should
we (Bjorn, myself, Nick, Wayne, anyone?) consider creating a small,
simple system from scratch?

Would it be
of interest to exploit using Buckminster as the foundation for this
build system? If so, I'd be happy to help out.

I'd also like to look at having a third in-person
workshop session,
perhaps in late October or early November. Could be Ottawa or Toronto,
depending on who wants to attend.
