RE: [cosmos-dev] i9 QA Execution - Status update #1 (Build :COSMOS-1.0.0-200802261616)

Sheldon

I think that the menus should reflect the data manager
capabilities. So if a Data Manager supports the CMDBf query interface
(IMdrQuery Manageability Capability) then it should show the "submit
query" submenu in its popup menu. If a Data Manager supports the CMDBf
registration interface (IFederatingCMDB Manageability Capability), then
it should show the "register" and "deregister" submenus in its popup
menu. I've opened bug "220783 - UI menus need to reflect the Data
Manager service group capability".

Srinivas, those menu items should not appear. Also, your first
observation is the expected behavior because the SMLMDR does not have
any service metadata in its WSDL.

Regards
Bill

'Submit Query' is a default action on a data manager. It should always
be
present to allow the user to submit some form of query that the data
manager is aware of. Ali or David do you know if the Example
Federating
CMDB is able to recieve CMDBf queries? If so are there test cases for
this
feature?

Bill can you answer Srinivas's questions regarding the
registration/deregistratoin issues. I assume that it doesn't make sense
to
have the registration or deregistration on the SML MDR/EXAMPLE MDR. I
think the problem here is that the COSMOS UI can not distinguish between
a
federating CMDB and a data manager. Bill, if this is the case can you
open
an enhancement to see if the UI can make this distinction.

Srinivas, The resolution problem is already captured in bug 220443
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=220443. You can add your
screen shots to bug 220443

Thanks,

Sheldon

Hi,

QA has completed E2E testing (http://wiki.eclipse.org/COSMOS_DEMO_i9) on
following platforms without any blocking issues:

- Windows XP SP2 with SUN JRE 1.5.0_13
- Windows 2003 SP1 with SUN JRE 1.5.0_13

Detail status and results of this E2E testing has been posted on
http://wiki.eclipse.org/COSMOS_i9_QA_Phase_Execution

Issues/Observations

===============

- COSMOS command line observations

            COSMOS> smlmdr getWSDL

            WSDL result:
D:\cosmos\i9\cosmos-demo\cosmos-client\smlmdr.wsdl

            Error occurred in getWSDL: null

            COSMOS>

- COSMOS Web UI

            - Registration Example: What is the purpose of ?Submit
Query?
on Registration Example? How do we test it??

            - SML MDR/EXAMPLE MDR: Usage of ?Register Configuration
Items??,?Deregister Configuration Items?? ? How do we test
it??

            - Example MDR: Submit Query Popup Window is not visible
completely with default screen resolution of 1024x768,
however
            it is visible

if I change the resolution of my screen to 1152x864

            - On IE, we are getting some error on ?status bar? and also
on
COSMOS logo page getting some black shaded box

Thanks,

Srinivas(See attached file: E2E_COSMOSWebUI.doc)
