The EclipseLink project is scheduled for a creation review tomorrow.
The project proposal includes a wide variety of persistence framework
components including JPA, SDO, JAXB, JCA, and even a component to expose
relational databases as web services.  The initial code contribution is
a JPA implementation by Oracle.  More details here:
