I've added the StatisticalDataAccessor see bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=173455, until the code get's checked in you can use the patch to run this new data accessor (after you update the database as described bellow).

I've updated the sample database with Mark's perfmon session (see first attachment to the bug), see bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=172540, to install the updated version stop Derby replace folder
C:\COSMOS-Demo-EclipseCon2007\derby\db-derby-10.2.2.0-bin\frameworks\NetworkServer\bin\Hyades
with the content of http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Image:COSMOS-EclipseCon2007Demo-log_stat-sample-Apache_Derby-db.zip (setup.bat from http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Image:COSMOS-Demo-EclipseCon2007.zip does this automatically if you haven't ran it already) then start Derby.
