[cosmos-dev] Demo at Eclipse Con

By now we have all seen the e-mails
flying around from eclipsezilla, our demo was not selected.  One of
the reasons is when I submitted this request, I inadvertently categorized
this under "Java Development" rather than "Technology and
Scripting".  Because of this, a different PMC evaluated the request
and did not accept it.  Given the number of projects under Technology
and their levels of maturity, getting a slot was still not guaranteed,
but we would have been evaluated against the proper set of submissions.
 The current status is that Bjorn has re-opened this request and we
are slated as an alternate should one of the existing demos decline.  Thank
you to Valentina for tracking this down and getting clarification from
Bjorn.  Despite not having 30 min to present at Eclipse Con in a formal
session, we do have the Birds of a Feather where we can showcase our effort.
 

Please keep in mind that  there
are many reasons we are driving hard towards the March demo, not the least
of which is to help us come together around a defined set of deliverables
and objectives.   Our goals were to have working code that we could
use as an initial prototype illustrating the value of COSMOS, to demonstrate
and prove our assumptions about using SML in systems management,  and
help us identify and refine our requirements going forward.  The good
news is that we are still on track to reach these goals.  I believe
we should continue to focus on this effort in order to bring closure to
the work items and put ourselves in a position to transition cleanly to
our next deliverable in June.
