I'll look after mingw. Martin, it would be great if you looked at MacOSX.

Long term, I'd like to exercise gcc's cross-compile abilities (test it's 
inabilities?) and be able to compile the libraries all on one machine. 
That would be heaven...

That would be a good thing ...
The project is in:
org.eclipse.cdt.core.win32/library/

we would need to copy the resulting dll in
org.eclipse.cdt.core.win32/os/win32/x86/

If Doug can get the cygwin/mingwin ports, that would be better
for the long term.
