[buckminster-dev] New Build Available 1.0.0.v20061213

Hi,
I am pleased to announce that there is a new build available for Buckminster
(called 1.0.0.v20061213).
It is available both at the download site, and via Eclipse update manager.

Read the full release note on the wiki:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/1.0.0.v20061213_Release_Notes_%28Buckminster%29

Here is a summary of what has changed in this build?

* Tight integration with Eclipse PDE-build - Buckminster is now able to
build the org.eclipse.rcp feature from source using releng specific map
files.

* Headless boot simplified - Headless Buckminster is now much smaller in
size, dependency on binary launcher removed, initialization cleaned up, and
options now conform to standard Eclipse options.

* New meta-data storage implementation - the previous implementation was
sensitive to changes taking place without Buckminster's knowledge. Meta-data
storage is now reimplemented and should be much more stable.

* XML-Schema cleanup - The Buckminster XML-Schemas have been modified; some
syntax has been deprecated and replaced with newer constructs, and the
number of schema files have been reduced.

* Some internal restructuring in the Buckminster plugins; feature naming is
now more consistent.

What you need to do

 * Uninstall any previous build of the buckminster plugins (either by using
the update manager uninstall command), or by removing the buckminster
plugins under the Eclipse install directory.

* Reinstall the Buckminster plugins using "Find and Install" - As described
in Getting started with Buckminster.

* If you have written plugins that extend the Buckminster plugins you need
to upgrade these extensions. Take a look at the changes in the examples used
as starting point. If you run into problems please contact the Buckminster
team on the mailinglist/newsgroup. We can schedule a conference call on
request to help out.

Best Regards
Buckminster Team
