BIRT 2.0 M2 Development Status
The BIRT 2.0 M2 release is targeted for Monday October 24th. There are ~50 bugzilla entries outstanding for M2 that the development team are working through. Based on this, it is likely that the release will be available a few days after the target date.
Coordinating BIRT Release Announcements
In order to better coordinate the announcement of availability of new Milestone and Release builds, the Build Team will email the BIRT Developer List when a new Milestone or Release Build is ready to go. The PMC can then review and provide any feedback that may affect the final release timing and/or announcement.
BIRT Examples on www.eclipse.org/birt
Examples pages have been updated with many more examples for the community. The new pages were posted on Saturday morning and can be found at: http://www.eclipse.org/birt/examples/.
New pages include a description of the feature being illustrated, before and after report designs, and a recorded mini-tutorial of using the feature to build the report.

The BIRT Project area has been reorganized to be easier to navigate. It is now split into two primary areas: Project Organization and Project Development Plan.
Eclipse China Working Group
The BIRT team is going to participate in the Eclipse China Working Group.
