- open pref dialog > Java > Installed JREs
Observe: dialog becomes wide
- in pref dialog tree select "General" 
- resize dialog back to a "normal" size
- in pref dialog tree select "Ant"
Observe: dialog stays at normal size
- click on Sash between pref dialog tree and content area
Observe: dialog width extends to full screen size
